![]() ![]() There was no reason to "fix" the weapon to get new people in when they didn't want to learn how to play a perfectly good weapon. The weapon was not unplayable, and when putting in the time to learn, it was one of the most fun weapons. Which makes me think, why do it to Hunting Horn? All Hunting Horns are capable of inflicting the Infernal Melody effect on the user by filling up the gauge next to the musical score in the top left corner of the players screen and then using. Completely alienating the fans of the weapon in previous installments who liked the weapon for how it played just isn't a good move.Įven without splitting it into two weapons, they could have done a lot to increase accessibility for people wanting to get into the weapon but not wanting to put in the time to learn how to play it in previous installments.Īre they going to rework Lance and Gunlance too, removing their gameplay niche to make it more fun and accessible to people who don't want that playstyle? Honestly, probably not. Monster Hunter Rise Wiki Guide: Monsters, Weapons, Walkthrough, Armor, Skills, Palicoes, Items and more. They really should have split Hunting Horn into two weapons. ![]() rises is easy to play and KOing stuff with earthshaker is fun for a while but it doesnt compare at all to the old playstyle of using your most optimal button at a given time to snipe the head while keeping your songs up. Long animations making the weapon punishing but rewarding like Greatsword? Hits no longer feel heavy like Greatsword? There's changes I would have liked to see that I see in Rise, however. I've been playing Horn since Freedom Unite and I've loved it in every title (most of my hunts in my 900 hours of World being on Horn). In terms of gameplay, no other weapon felt the same as Horn did, but now it's literally gone from the game, and no, the echo mode switch skills is nothing like old Hunting Horn either. The only thing that transferred from previous titles to Rise is that it plays music, but you don't even do that yourself now, it's just automatic. I think Rise made some really good changes to the weapon (drawing into any attack for example), but to say it's still *Hunting Horn* is just not true. I can see that it generally seems to be an echo chamber that Horn was garbage in previous games and that Rise made it amazing so I probably will get people telling me I only liked the weapon because no one used it and it's only good in Rise and that I suck or something, but I still want to talk about how I feel about it here. ![]()
